The first agricultural municipality in Haute-Savoie, Le Grand-Bornand is well known as being the birthplace of Reblochon cheese. The Aravis mountains, an alpine paradise

This region offers a fantastic alpine playground in summer and winter with pinnacles and grooves carved into the limestone rock pavement by centuries of erosion. Activities such as hiking, rock climbing, ski-touring, and mountaineering are all easily accessible from the village. This pre-alpine limestone mountain range extends for around 25km and has a very distinctive silhouette, alternating steep, narrow valleys with well-known summits such as the Mont Charvet, Tardevant, le Mont Charvin and reaching the Pointe Percée (2750 metres) at its highest point.

The resort has two ski areas at two altitudes: Le Grand-Bornand village can be found at 1000 metres, while le Chinaillon is perched at 1300 metres and with its two gondolas, is the main starting point for the alpine ski slopes.
