The Vanoise Express; a feat of engineering

If you want to go over from La Plagne to Les Arcs, you need to take the famous Vanoise Express, one of the biggest cable cars in the world. This feat iof engineering stands out for its two double decker cabins, with each one able to hold up to 200 people. At a height of 380 metres, the cable car runs between Peisey at 1612 metres, and Montchavin-Les Coches at 1548 metres. Over a distance of 1824 metres, the cabins soar over the Ponthurin valley giving the passengers stunning views of Mont Blanc, the Beaufortain valley and the unmissable north face of Bellecôte, a mythical off piste route in the Paradiski area.

Paradiski’s reputation is well established with its 425km of slopes, on mountainsides facing in every direction and its altitudes from 1250 to 3250 metres, there really is something for everyone. Beginners are able to progress at their own pace on specially created slopes while more experienced skiers can try their hands at the 102 red and black slopes; you can even ski on a glacier! The area also offers cross country skiing and ski touring slopes. 70% of the area is above 2000 metres.
