Flaine, a unique resort

The site of Flaine was discovered in 1959 by Eric Boissonas and the architect Gérard Chevraz and Is the result of their bold vision. They decided to create a model of urban planning and contemporary architecture where aesthetic appeal and respect for the environment were particularly important. Designed by the architect Marcel Breuer, one of the pioneers of modern architecture, the resort stands out for its concrete buildings with simple geometric shapes and pure lines.

Les Carroz, a ‘Nouvelle Glisse’ action snow sports resort

Resorts who are accredited with this label have special areas dedicated to snowsport in all its forms, such as snow parks, boarder cross slopes, and fun snow areas as well as having specialist instructors to help people progress. Perfectly designed for snowboard lovers, Les Carroz also offers a large variety of snow activities such as Snake Gliss and Yooners.

This international certification rewards the social, economic, cultural, and environmental efforts of tourism companies. ‘Green Globe’ is the only certified standard focused on sustainable development and corporate social responsibility for the tourist industry. It is based on 40 themes, covering more than 300 criteria, some of which are mandatory and some optional, including sustainable development, support for local industries and environmental protection.
