A geopark groups together several exceptional geological sites, distinguished for their scientific value, rarity, beauty, or educational importance. These sites are also of archaeological, ecological, historical, or cultural interest. Due to its geological and cultural diversity, the Chablais region was admitted to the network of European and worldwide Geoparks by Unesco in March 2012.

La dent d’Oche

A superb day out in the heart of the Chablais, la Dent d’Oche, overlooking Lake Geneva, offers a fantastic hike. On the way up the path through alpine meadows turns into a rockier path after the refuge. The itinerary is a loop which starts at the chalets d’Oche, where alpine ibex sometimes walk alongside the hikers.

Lake Geneva

At a height of 372 metres, the biggest lake in Savoie-Mont-Blanc has panoramas worthy of the riviera. A link between France and Switzerland, it benefits from a temperate climate, conducive to Mediterranean vegetation. The lakes
