La Dent Parrachée

With its peak at 3697 metres, la Dent Parrachée is visible throughout most of the Haute Maurienne valley, from Bramans to Lanslevillard. It’s the highest point of the largest ice sheet in Europe. The climb to the top is very popular in the Maurienne valley but is reserved for accomplished mountaineers. Less experienced hikers can enjoy the trails around the refuge of the same name, in an authentic high mountain environment.

Mont Cenis Lake

The Mont Cenis plateau is particularly remarkable for its magnificent lake. Historically, although a lake has always existed, its current size far exceeds that of the past, making it all the more impressive. Today, it’s a reservoir which provides water for the Villarodin-Bourget hydroelectric power station. A walk of around five hours around the lake allows you to discover some of its secrets, such as the old Italian dikes.
